Automated SEO reports, ready every Monday morning
Automated SEO reports without exporting a single CSV. Every Monday morning Sai opens Google Search Console and your SEO tool, pulls clicks, impressions, average position and the pages and queries that moved, fills your report template and writes a short summary of what changed. You read the report; you don’t build it.
The routine
# Routine: Weekly SEO report
Schedule: Weekly on Monday at 7:30 AM
Runs on: Mochi's computer
Ask me before acting: no
Stop a run after: 30 minutes
## Each run
1. Open Google Search Console for each property in the Sites tab. Set the date range to last week (Monday to Sunday) compared with the week before.
2. Record clicks, impressions, CTR and average position. Export the top 25 pages and top 25 queries by clicks.
3. Open our SEO tool and record tracked keyword positions and any new or lost rankings in the top 10.
4. Fill the SEO report template: the summary table, the top pages and queries, and the biggest gains and drops.
5. Write three short bullet points on what moved and the most likely reason, quoting the numbers.
## Rules
- Use the same date ranges and filters every week.
- Don't change any setting in Search Console or the SEO tool.
- If a source is missing data, say so in the report rather than estimating.

The report link and the three bullet points. What is an automated SEO report?
An automated SEO report is a recurring report of search performance, typically clicks, impressions, average position, and the pages and queries that gained or lost, that is collected and assembled on a schedule instead of by hand. Teams use a weekly report to spot drops early and to show what their SEO work changed. The data comes from Google Search Console and from rank tracking or SEO platforms.
Most of the time spent on SEO reporting goes into exporting, pasting and reformatting the same numbers each week. That part is what a routine takes over.
How this routine builds the report
Every Monday Sai runs the same steps on its own computer:
- Open Search Console. For each site, Sai sets last week against the week before and records clicks, impressions, CTR and average position.
- Pull pages and queries. It exports the top pages and queries, so the report shows what drove the change.
- Check rankings. It reads tracked keyword positions and new or lost top-10 rankings from your SEO tool.
- Fill your template. Numbers go into your own report template in Google Docs, Sheets or Slides, in the same layout every week.
- Summarize. Sai writes three short points on what moved and the likely reason, quoting the numbers.
What you get every Monday
Because the date ranges and filters never change, the reports are comparable week to week, which is what makes trends believable.
- Your weekly SEO report, filled in your own template
- Week-over-week changes for clicks, impressions, CTR and position
- The pages and queries that gained or lost the most
- A three-point summary you can paste into Slack or email
Ways to automate SEO reporting, compared
There are three common ways to get a weekly SEO report without building it by hand.
| Method | Setup | Uses your own template | Combines several tools | Ongoing effort |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Building it by hand | None | Yes | Yes | High: an hour or more each week |
| Dashboards such as Looker Studio | Medium: connectors and charts | No, dashboard layout | Only with connectors | Low, but someone still writes the summary |
| Reports built into an SEO platform | Low | Limited | Only that platform’s data | Low |
| A Sai routine | Paste the routine, point it at your template | Yes | Yes, anything you can open in a browser | Low: read the report |
If a live dashboard is what you need, a connector-based tool is the right choice. If the deliverable is a written report in your own format, with a summary someone actually reads, a routine fits better. For agencies sending several clients a report across channels, see automated client reporting.
Weekly or monthly SEO reports?
Weekly works best for in-house teams: drops are caught within days and changes can be tied to releases. Agencies and leadership updates usually want a monthly report with weekly checks underneath. Change Repeat in the demo above to see both schedules.
Set up the routine in Sai
- Copy the routine above and paste it into Sai, or click Start with Sai.
- Set the schedule to Weekly on Monday at 7:30 AM, so the report is ready before your first meeting.
- Give Sai access to Search Console and your SEO tool through their normal sign-in, and share the report template.
- Leave approvals off. The routine only reads data and writes to your report.
- Run it once and compare the numbers with what you see in Search Console before letting it run on its own.

Why use a computer use agent for SEO reports?
SEO data is spread across tools that each have their own exports, limits and layouts, and the report your team reads is usually a document, not a dashboard. A computer use agent works in each tool the way you do and writes into your own template, so nothing needs to be connected or maintained.
Sai ranks at the top of OSWorld, the open benchmark for computer use, which is why a weekly routine can run without someone checking it. If a source has no data, the report says so.
Skills this routine uses
- AI brand visibility tracking: Ask ChatGPT, Perplexity and Gemini your buyers’ questions every week and log which brands each answer mentions and cites.
- Google Slides automation: Build decks in Google Slides from a reference deck and your notes, and turn your corrections into rules Sai follows next time.
- Excel automation: Clean, merge and update workbooks, refresh a model from new numbers, and build the weekly report in the real Excel app.
